Changing Analog Voice to Fax Line or Vice-Versa in 8x8 Admin Console

Objective

Change an analog voice line to an analog fax line or vice-versa in Admin Console.

Procedure

Warning! This process will delete all call history, call forwarding settings, voicemails, voicemail greetings, and will deactivate your device. Make sure to copy all pertinent data before following the steps below.

  1. Log in to Admin Console as an admin.
  2. Select Users.
  3. Edit the affected user.
  4. Go to the Services and Permissions section.
  5. Select X to remove the assigned service (e.g., X Series - X2 - V0SVC0216-02-US).
  6. Select Save.
  7. Go to Service and Permissions again and select the same service that was just removed.
  8. Go to Voice Basic Settings and select the analog fax/voice device from the Device Model menu.
  9. Select the ATA terminal.
  10. Activate the device via either MAC address or Activation code.
  11. Select Save.
