Failed at VCC Extension Save Error While Adding a Contact Center License to 8x8 Admin Console

Symptom

When I try to add a VCC license to a user in 8x8 Admin Console I receive an error message that reads, "Failed at VCC extension save."

Resolution

Shorten the username of the user to under 40 characters. Make sure there are no special characters (e.g., apostrophes), in the user's first or last name.

Cause

There is a 40 character limit for VCC usernames.
