This FAQ addresses common questions regarding the enforced
data retention policy for 8x8 Analytics for Work historical
data. As part of this policy, access to Analytics for Work data
older than two years will no longer be available.

Why is this change happening?
This update is part of our ongoing efforts to:

When will the historical data deletion take place?
Starting July 1, 2025, all 8x8 Analytics
for Work data older than two years will be
permanently deleted and will no longer be accessible through the Analytics
for Work public API or any other interface.
Please note that access to data through the 8x8 Work
Analytics UI has always been limited to the past two years, and this
change will now extend to the Analytics for Work public
API as well.
Can I request to recover the data after this data deletion?

This data deletion process
is irreversible, and the deleted data cannot be recovered.
How can I retrieve data before it is deleted?
There is no built-in download or export functionality.
However, you can retrieve data by making
API requests and
storing the responses externally as needed. We recommend treating the retrieved
data according to your preferred storage and backup policies.
Will any actions be required before data deletion?
There are no specific requirements, however, we recommend
the following if you wish to retain your historical data:
Why should I be concerned about this data deletion?
If you rely on Analytics for Work data
older than two years for reporting, dashboards, analytics, or any other
purposes, this change may impact your workflows. Please ensure that your
systems can function correctly without access to historical data beyond this
retention period or you can retrieve and store the data on your end before the
deletion date to continue using it for your purposes without modifying your
system's workflow.
Will this data deletion be an ongoing process?
On July 1, 2025, all Analytics for Work data older than two
years will be permanently deleted. While data deletion will continue to occur
at regular intervals, we recommend that you no longer rely on data older than
two years.
